CM Mohan Yadav Inaugurates ₹20 Crore Water Park in Dhanpuri, Announces ₹2,300 Crore Irrigation Projects in Shahdol

Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday inaugurated a newly constructed, state-of-the-art water park in Dhanpuri, Shahdol district, marking a significant step toward tourism promotion and urban development in the region. Built at a cost of ₹20 crore, the facility includes a modern swimming pool, club house and multiple recreational amenities.

The inauguration ceremony also witnessed the distribution of benefits to beneficiaries under various government schemes, along with a series of major development announcements for the district.

Modern Water Park to Boost Tourism and Employment

The water park, developed by Dhanpuri Municipal Council, features a mini-Olympic standard swimming pool, water slides for children and youth, and a fully equipped club house. The Chief Minister said the project is not only a recreational facility but will also promote local tourism and generate employment opportunities for youth in the Shahdol region.

₹2,300 Crore Son River Micro Irrigation Projects Announced

A major highlight of the event was the announcement of four micro irrigation projects on the Son River, with an estimated investment of ₹2,300 crore. These projects will create additional irrigation capacity for nearly 50,000 hectares and directly benefit 122 villages.

Shahdol Irrigation Complex and Agricultural Expansion

CM Mohan Yadav announced the construction of the Shahdol Irrigation Complex, emphasizing that 2026 will be observed as the “Year of Agriculture” in Madhya Pradesh. He highlighted that the state’s irrigated area has expanded to 44 lakh hectares, with plans to distribute 30 lakh solar pumps to make farmers energy-independent.

SECL Displaced Families Receive Appointment Letters

During the program, the Chief Minister handed over appointment letters to 15 beneficiaries from families displaced due to SECL projects. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to rehabilitation, employment and social justice, stating that development must be inclusive and balanced.

Education and Cultural Infrastructure Announcements

Several education-related announcements were made, including:

  • Construction of a Geeta Bhavan equipped with library and coaching facilities
  • Proposal to increase seats at Shahdol Medical College
  • New arts and science faculty buildings at Jaitpur College
  • Announcement of a new college in the region

These initiatives aim to strengthen educational infrastructure and learning opportunities for local students.

Jaitpur to Get Nagar Panchayat Status

The Chief Minister announced that Jaitpur will be granted Nagar Panchayat status, enabling better civic infrastructure and urban amenities. Additionally, road development projects worth ₹160 crore, including 45 km of new roads and a 3 km model road, were approved for Shahdol district.

“True Promises, Firm Execution Define Our Government”: CM

Addressing the gathering, CM Mohan Yadav said, “True promises and firm execution are the identity of our government.” He highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s position among the fastest-growing states in the country and reiterated the government’s commitment to tribal welfare, youth employment, and sustainable development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
