Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath concluded the Kakori Train Action Centenary Celebrations with a strong call to adopt patriotism and Swadeshi as guiding life principles, saying:
“Swadeshi should be the aim and mantra of our lives — we will live for Swadeshi and die for our country.”

He urged citizens to hoist the tricolour on every home, take out Tiranga Yatras across villages, wards, and cities, and unite the nation against divisive forces.
Honouring Freedom Fighters
- Paid tribute to Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqulla Khan, Thakur Roshan Singh, Rajendranath Lahiri, and others who participated in the 1925 Kakori Train Action.
- Recalled that only ₹4,600 was taken from the British treasury during Kakori, yet the British spent over ₹10 lakh to suppress the movement.
- Planted a peepal tree, tied Rakhis with schoolgirls, distributed sweets, and released a book on Kakori.
- Honoured families of martyrs and soldiers.
Swadeshi & Economic Nationalism
- Linked economic self-reliance with national security, warning against buying foreign goods that may indirectly fund terrorism.
- Urged citizens to buy only indigenous products during upcoming festivals — Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami, Dussehra, Diwali, Chhath.
- Encouraged visiting Gandhi Ashram on 2 October to pledge buying Khadi.
Development & Legacy Projects
- Announced Malihabad mangoes will be branded as “Kakori” and exported globally as a tribute to revolutionaries and to boost the local economy.
- Highlighted state efforts to revive martyr memorials and remember revolutionary events like Mainpuri Action (1915) and Chauri Chaura (1922).
- Stressed the duty to build “the India of the dreams of those who paid the price for freedom.”
