In a major step towards strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s police force, CM Yogi Adityanath on Sunday handed over appointment letters to 1,494 newly recruited personnel in the Uttar Pradesh Police Telecommunication Department at a grand ceremony held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. These appointments include 1,374 Assistant Operators and 120 Workshop Employees, marking a significant boost to the technical wing of the police force.

30,000 More Police Personnel to be Recruited

During his address, CM Yogi announced that 30,000 additional police personnel will soon be recruited, and 20% of them will be Agniveers, bringing in trained and disciplined youth into the force. He highlighted that the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board would begin this new recruitment process shortly.

UP Police: From Nepotism to Transparency

The Chief Minister took a strong stand against previous regimes, stating that before 2017, police recruitment in the state was riddled with corruption and nepotism, with posts often auctioned. He emphasized that his government has brought transparency, fairness, and meritocracy to the system.

“Today’s Uttar Pradesh stands as a model of law and order,” CM Yogi declared. “Where once the state was known for hooliganism and riots, it is now a hub of investment and opportunity.”

Law and Order: A Pillar of UP’s Development

CM Yogi further added that since 2017, over 8.5 lakh government jobs have been provided, with 2.17 lakh appointments in the police department alone, the highest across sectors. He said that modern facilities are being added, police training capacities have been enhanced, and police lines have been established in previously underserved districts.

Empowering Women in Uniform

Among the 1,494 recruits, 274 women candidates have been appointed as Assistant Operators, and 23 women among the Workshop Employees—highlighting the Yogi government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and inclusive recruitment.

Transparent Recruitment Process

According to the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, the recruitment for Assistant Operators and Workshop Employees was conducted transparently under Recruitment-2022. A total of 3,89,711 candidates applied, and selection was based on online written exams, document verification, physical standards, and efficiency tests, ensuring fairness at every step.

Mission Rozgar in Full Swing

Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Suresh Kumar Khanna, who was present at the event, stated that the Yogi government has created more than 8.5 lakh government jobs, 3.75 lakh contractual appointments, and 2 crore private sector jobs under Mission Rozgar. The government aims to provide employment in every village and city, making UP’s youth self-reliant.

Telecom Wing – Backbone of UP Police

DGP Mr. Rajiv Krishna lauded the efforts of the Telecom Department, calling it the backbone of the police force. He informed that digital police centres have been established in 63 districts, and the remaining 12 districts will be covered soon.

Conclusion

With the addition of 1,494 trained personnel to the UP Police Telecom Department and a pledge to recruit 30,000 more, the Yogi Adityanath government is clearly prioritizing law enforcement, youth employment, and administrative transparency, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s transformation into a state of opportunity and order.
