Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday launched the state’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan by lighting the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ at Prerna Sthal in Lucknow on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday.
The programme was held alongside Vishwakarma Jayanti and marked the beginning of activities under the campaign across Uttar Pradesh. CM Yogi lit lamps at the statues of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme was part of a wider initiative under which lamps were lit at several important locations and at the homes of beneficiaries of public welfare schemes. The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is scheduled to run from September 17 to October 17 in Uttar Pradesh.
CM Yogi Interacts With Students at Prerna Sthal
During the programme, CM Yogi interacted with students present at Prerna Sthal. He also recorded a video on his mobile phone and distributed chocolates among the students.
The Chief Minister extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and wished him good health and a long life. He also greeted people of Uttar Pradesh on Vishwakarma Jayanti and acknowledged workers, beneficiaries and citizens associated with the campaign.
The launch at Prerna Sthal was designed around the lighting of lamps as a symbolic expression of participation in the campaign. Similar ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programmes were organised at several locations across the country on September 17.

Yogi Links Vishwakarma Jayanti With Development
Speaking at the event, CM Yogi referred to Lord Vishwakarma as the architect of creation and described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the “architect of New India”.
Yogi said that under the Prime Minister’s leadership and guidance, India was moving towards the vision of a developed nation. He also spoke about the country’s changing infrastructure, technology and identity, while linking the occasion with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat.
According to the Chief Minister, the lighting of lamps across the country on the Prime Minister’s birthday reflected positive sentiments and energy. He said lamps were also being lit at important places in Uttar Pradesh, including Prerna Sthal, as well as at the homes of beneficiaries of welfare schemes.
Month-Long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in Uttar Pradesh is planned as a month-long programme focusing on public participation, service activities and outreach related to government initiatives.
Ahead of the launch, the state had outlined several activities under the campaign, including service-oriented programmes, welfare outreach and events aimed at connecting beneficiaries with government schemes. The campaign also includes activities for students and community participation.
One of the stated components is the ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat’ initiative, under which schools are scheduled to organise competitions for students. Other activities planned during the campaign include blood donation drives, fruit distribution at hospitals and distribution of toolkits linked with Vishwakarma Jayanti programmes.
The campaign is also being linked with the broader national goal of Viksit Bharat-2047, with the Uttar Pradesh programme seeking to highlight public participation and the reach of welfare and development initiatives.
CM Yogi Highlights UP’s Support for Viksit Bharat Vision
During his address, Yogi said that people across different sections of society could see changes taking place in the country. He referred to developments in infrastructure and modern technology while presenting them as part of India’s ongoing development journey.
He also said that the 25 crore people of Uttar Pradesh stood with Prime Minister Modi in the vision of a self-reliant and developed India.
The remarks were made in the context of the Prime Minister’s birthday celebrations and the wider Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The month-long campaign has been planned around public service and outreach activities across Uttar Pradesh.
Officials Attend the Programme
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Rajya Sabha MP Brijlal, Legislative Council members Dr Lal Ji Nirmal and Dr Avinash Singh, MLA Dr Neeraj Bora and Lucknow Mahanagar president Anand Dwivedi were among those present at the event.
The launch at Prerna Sthal marked the beginning of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in Uttar Pradesh, bringing together lamp-lighting, public participation and outreach activities linked with welfare and development initiatives. The campaign will continue across the state through October 17.
