Lucknow: The sacred Joda Sahib of the ‘Charan Suhave Guru Charan Yatra’, a revered symbol of the Sikh community’s faith, received a grand reception in Lucknow. The Yatra commemorates the tenth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and Mata Sahib Kaur, whose devotion continues to inspire generations.
Honoring the Guru’s Legacy
During the ceremony at Yahiyaganj Gurudwara, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the Guru tradition has imparted India with ideals of service, sacrifice, and national protection. “Jithe jaaye bahey mera Satguru, so thaan suhava Ram raje,” he quoted, meaning, “wherever the holy feet of the Guru rest, that place becomes as sacred as Ramrajya.”
He noted that the Yatra reconnects people with the glorious Guru tradition that shaped India’s culture, courage, and spirit of sacrifice. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and other dignitaries were also present during the event, which included Guruvani recitations and a ceremonial turban-tying to honor the Yatra members.

Preserving India’s Spiritual Heritage
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Union Minister Puri, stating, “This Yatra, beginning on the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj, is not merely a spiritual journey but a tribute inspiring renunciation, devotion, and service to the nation.”
He reiterated that the contributions of Sikh Gurus, from Guru Nanak Dev Ji to Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and his Sahibzadas, are unforgettable. Their sacrifices to protect religion, humanity, and the nation continue to inspire present and future generations.

Significance of the Yahiyaganj Gurudwara
CM Yogi highlighted that the Yahiyaganj Gurudwara, associated with Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, symbolizes faith and national unity. He noted that the Yatra, which started from Delhi, aims to spread reverence and pride in the Guru tradition across the country.
A Message for the Future
“The Guru tradition embodies faith, service, and sacrifice for the nation. This Yatra is not just a remembrance of the past, but a guiding light for the present and future,” CM Yogi remarked, urging devotees to preserve the rich heritage and continue the message of national unity and spiritual awakening.
The event was attended by UP Cabinet Minister Suresh Khanna, Minister of State Baldev Singh Aulakh, Minority Commission Member Sardar Parbinder Singh, Gurudwara Committee officials, and several public representatives.
