New Delhi: In a significant move to strengthen its board, Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI) has appointed Krishna Das as an Additional Director (Non-Executive – Independent). The appointment, approved by a board resolution dated 2 March 2026, is subject to shareholder approval at the company’s next General Meeting.

Appointment Details and Tenure

The appointment of  Krishna Das follows the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. She will serve as an Additional Director until the next General Meeting, which is expected within three months from the board’s approval. At this meeting, shareholders will vote to approve her regular appointment as an Independent Non-Executive Director for a three-year term, starting from the effective date of her appointment.

 Das will officially assume her role after completing statutory requirements under the Companies Act, 2013, or obtaining an active Director Identification Number, whichever is later.

Professional Background of  Krishna Das

Born on 7 April 1984,  Krishna Das is a seasoned legal professional and social leader with over 15 years of experience in governance, legal education, and welfare administration. Her professional credentials include:

  • Former Chairman, Assam State Social Welfare Board
  • Expertise in labour law, constitutional law, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong track record in policy development, governance, and social welfare initiatives

The company clarified that she has no relationship with any current DCI Director or officer and does not hold any shares in the company.

Regulatory Compliance

In line with SEBI (Listing Obligations & Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, DCI has formally informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE: 523618) and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE: DREDGECORP) regarding this board appointment. The disclosure ensures transparency for shareholders and stakeholders regarding governance and leadership changes.

Strengthening Board Leadership

The appointment of  Krishna Das enhances DCI’s board with independent oversight and legal expertise, supporting the company’s strategic objectives in maritime infrastructure and corporate governance. Her experience in administrative leadership and social welfare is expected to bring a new perspective to decision-making processes at the board level.
