New Delhi: The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), India’s leading energy company, has announced a key leadership update at the Board level. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has assigned additional responsibilities to Mr. Vikram Saxena, currently serving as Director (Technology & Field Services), who will now also hold the additional charge of Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs).

Appointment Details and Effective Date

Effective March 1, 2026, Mr. Saxena has been entrusted with the interim charge of Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs). This temporary arrangement will continue for three months, or until a regular incumbent is appointed, or until further instructions from the government—whichever occurs first.

The announcement was made through a regulatory filing to the BSE and NSE, in compliance with SEBI LODR Regulations, and formally communicated via a letter (No. CA-31011/2/2026-CA-PNG) from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.

Leadership Background and Responsibilities

Mr. Vikram Saxena (DIN: 10892368) is a Whole-Time Director at ONGC, overseeing the Technology & Field Services portfolio. By taking on the Strategy & Corporate Affairs charge, he will now manage an expanded range of operations, including:

  • Long-term corporate planning
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • International business development
  • Strategic decision-making at the Board level

This move ensures continuity in leadership and maintains momentum in strategic initiatives until a permanent Director is appointed.

The company confirmed the development through a filing signed by Shashi Bhushan Singh, Company Secretary & Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to corporate governance and regulatory norms. ONGC stated that the additional charge assignment will remain temporary, emphasizing that the decision aligns with the company’s commitment to robust Board-level leadership and operational efficiency.
