PESB Selects Satyan Kumar as New Director for Strategy & Corporate Affairs at ONGC

New Delhi: Satyan Kumar is set to be the next Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Limited, following the recommendation of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel. Currently, he serves as Executive Director and CEO of ONGC Green Limited.

PESB Selection and Recommendation

The PESB panel finalized Kumar’s recommendation during its 13th selection meeting held on February 20, 2026. He was selected from a pool of 12 candidates, which included senior executives from ONGC, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited, Oil India Limited, and Indian Oil Corporation Limited.

Professional Profile of Satyan Kumar

Satyan Kumar has over three decades of experience across the oil, gas, and power sectors. He currently serves as Executive Director (Chief Strategy) at ONGC and is a Board Member at ONGC Tripura Power Company Limited.

Education and Training:

  • Electrical Engineering graduate from Dayalbagh Educational Institute
  • Completed Business Management programme at Management Development Institute
  • Leadership training at ESCP Europe

Professional Experience:

  • Over 22 years in project management at various ONGC facilities, including power plants, switchyards, substations, effluent plants, control rooms, and pipelines
  • Currently associated with the construction of a petrochemical complex at Dahej, Gujarat
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects
