Shravan Singh was conferred the award in the Bravery category, acknowledging his fearless contribution during a high-risk military operation—an honour rarely bestowed upon someone so young.

The award was presented at a ceremonial event held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, in the presence of senior government officials and dignitaries.

Who Is Shravan Singh? A Story Rooted in Simplicity and Service

Shravan Singh hails from Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district (Mohali), Punjab, and belongs to a humble family. Despite his young age, Shravan displayed exceptional maturity, empathy, and courage when the nation needed it most.

Coming from a rural background, Shravan’s upbringing has been deeply influenced by values of service, discipline, and patriotism, which ultimately guided his actions during Operation Sindoor.

Why Did Shravan Singh Got Bravery Award in PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2025

During Operation Sindoor, Shravan Singh voluntarily extended humanitarian support to Indian soldiers stationed near his village. Despite being just 10 years old, he displayed remarkable courage by:

  • Supplying milk, lassi, buttermilk, tea, and ice to soldiers
  • Assisting troops during extreme heat and long duty hours
  • Offering emotional encouragement and moral support
  • Standing firm despite the risks associated with a sensitive border zone

His actions were not driven by recognition but by a genuine desire to support the soldiers protecting the nation.

Youngest Civilian Contributor to a Military Operation

According to official sources and national media reports, Shravan Singh is being recognised as the youngest civilian contributor to Operation Sindoor.

Security personnel on the ground acknowledged that his presence boosted morale and served as a reminder of the public’s unwavering support for the armed forces.

National Recognition and Public Praise

Shravan Singh’s bravery quickly gained national attention after reports highlighted his role during the operation. His story resonated across the country, symbolising the spirit of “Nation First” even among the youngest citizens.

Government officials, defence personnel, and citizens alike have praised Shravan for setting an extraordinary example of courage, compassion, and civic responsibility and Golden Division of Indian army announced that they will help him in education.

A Message Beyond the Medal

While the PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is a prestigious honour, Shravan Singh’s story goes far beyond an award. It reflects:

  • The power of individual action, regardless of age
  • The importance of civilian support for armed forces
  • How values taught at home can shape national heroes

His journey stands as an inspiration for millions of children across India to contribute positively to society in their own ways.
