Benefits for East Delhi and the Entire NCR Region
The Chief Minister also announced plans to strengthen GTB Hospital’s 1,500-bed capacity by resuming construction on previously unfinished buildings from earlier administrations. These initiatives are expected to make Delhi’s healthcare system even more robust.
Long-Overdue Need for a Modern OPD Building
CM Gupta noted that the growing number of patients at IHBAS has long necessitated a modern OPD building. The new facility will reduce long waiting times and make the diagnosis and treatment process more organized and efficient, significantly improving the patient experience in mental health care.
IHBAS Set to Become a Top Mental Health Institute in India
The event was attended by dignitaries including Manoj Tiwari (MP, Northeast Delhi), Cabinet Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, and MLA Sanjay Goyal. MP Tiwari remarked that the upgraded IHBAS center will soon be among the top two or three mental health institutions in India. He also highlighted significant investments in mental healthcare made in collaboration with the central government and the Finance Ministry, positioning IHBAS as the largest mental health hub in North India.
MP Manoj Tiwari Appeals for Public Support
MP Tiwari urged Delhi residents to give the government two to three years to fully implement these healthcare improvements. He assured that within the stipulated time, the transformation in Delhi’s healthcare system will be visible and comprehensive, eliminating the need for repeated questions or complaints.
