Delhi: New Delhi is currently blooming with colors, fragrances, and festive cheer as the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) hosts a four-day Floral Festival at Connaught Place’s Central Park. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta officially inaugurated the event, which features over 15,500 flower pots across 18 sections, displaying 48 different varieties of flowers.
The festival transforms the park into a vibrant floral gallery, attracting locals, tourists, and gardening enthusiasts alike. Officials including NDMC Chairperson Keshav Chandra, Vice-Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Council Member Anil Valmiki, and Secretary Rahul Singh were present for the inauguration.
Tulips in Delhi: No Need to Travel to Kashmir
CM Rekha Gupta highlighted that in earlier times, Delhi residents had to travel to Kashmir to witness the tulip bloom. Now, the NDMC brings the beauty of tulips to the heart of Delhi every year. She added that the festival has evolved into a selfie-fest, with visitors capturing memorable moments amidst the flowers.

Celebrating Colors and Festivity in Falgun
The Chief Minister emphasized that the month of Falgun symbolizes colors and joy, and the NDMC has created a refreshing and lively environment with carefully curated floral arrangements. She also appreciated the efforts of the gardening department staff, whose dedication has made the area flourish with blossoms.
CM Rekha Gupta further encouraged other government departments to take inspiration from NDMC’s initiatives, stating that if one area can bloom with flowers, other parts of the city can also be made greener through similar efforts.
Tradition Meets Modernity
NDMC Chairperson Keshav Chandra explained that decorating New Delhi with flowers during Falgun and Holi is a long-standing tradition. The gardening department meticulously prepares for months to ensure the festival meets world-class standards, aiming to make the capital visually appealing and environmentally conscious.
Vice-Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal noted that recent international events, including the G20 Summit and AI Summit, were enhanced by the city’s aesthetic presentation. He referenced PM Narendra Modi’s Vision of Developed India @2047, highlighting NDMC’s commitment to showcasing New Delhi as culturally rich and environmentally sustainable.
Spectacular Flower Display Across 18 Sections
The festival is organized into 18 themed sections, featuring flowers like Dahlia, Petunia, Pansy, Salvia, and Marigold. Creative floral displays include animal and bird shapes, tray gardens, large hanging baskets, terrariums, and Eastern-Western style arrangements, offering a unique visual experience to visitors.
Special Selfie Points and Musical Fountain
The park features pyramid, heart-shaped, and cylindrical floral structures designed as selfie points. In the evenings, a musical fountain with colorful lights enhances the festival atmosphere, giving visitors a complete springtime experience.
Gardening Enthusiasts Can Shop for Plants
The festival also caters to gardening lovers with stalls offering nursery plants, bonsai, hydroponics, cactus-succulent, and herbal plants. Visitors can also purchase seeds, pots, fertilizers, and decorative materials, making the festival both a visual delight and a resource for hobbyists.
Open to Public Till March 6
The four-day Floral Festival is open to the public until March 6, with free entry. NDMC has invited residents to visit with family and friends to enjoy the vibrant colors, aromatic blooms, and festive spirit of Delhi this spring.
