New Delhi: In a significant move, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday announced a major reshuffle within the Delhi Police, with the transfer and posting of a total of 38 officers. The reshuffle includes 24 officers from the Indian Police Service (IPS) and 14 from the Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service (DANIPS).
Key Appointments and Transfers at Senior Positions
David Lalringsanga has been appointed as the Special Commissioner of Police for two key units: SPUWAC (Special Police Unit for Women and Children) and SPUNER (Special Police Unit for North-Eastern Region). These roles are critical in ensuring safety and security for vulnerable groups, particularly women, children, and people from the North-Eastern states.
Dheeraj Kumar takes charge as the Director of Delhi Police Academy, a crucial role in shaping the training and development of Delhi Police personnel.
Raj Kumar Singh has been appointed as the Joint Commissioner of Police for Provisioning and Logistics, while Vijay Kumar has been transferred from Joint CP of Delhi Police Housing Corporation Limited to Joint CP Eastern Range, a strategic move to bolster the department’s capabilities in the eastern parts of Delhi.
Umesh Kumar will now serve as Additional Commissioner of Police (CP) for Security, while Pratiksha Godara has been moved from Additional CP of Special Cell to Additional CP of Delhi Police Housing Corporation Limited (DPHCL).
District-Level Appointments and Transfers
Nidhin Valsan, previously DCP Outer North, will now head the Central District as DCP.
Rajeev Ranjan, who was serving as DCP Welfare, will now lead DCP Rohini.
V Hareshwar Swami has been moved from DCP 5th Battalion D to DCP Outer North.
Amit Goel, previously DCP Rohini, has been transferred to DCP South West.
Hemant Tiwari takes charge as DCP South East from the IFSO Unit (Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations Unit).
Other notable district-level transfers include
Ravi Kumar Singh, previously posted in South East district, will now serve in the Economic Offences Wing.
Sharad Bhaskar Darade will take over as DCP Traffic.
Sanjeev Kumar Yadav will now head DCP Crime.
Kushal Pal Singh, previously with Traffic, will now serve as DCP Metro.
Mahesh Kumar Barnwal has been appointed as DCP 5th Battalion D.
Vishnu Kumar, Additional DCP Rohini, is now appointed as DCP 6th Battalion D.
Appointments Among DANIPS Officers
Vinit Kumar, formerly DCP P&L, will now lead the IFSO Unit.
Chepyala Anjitha, previously Additional DCP North, has been promoted to DCP SPUWAC.
Laxmi Kanwat, Additional DCP West, has been appointed as DCP Security.
Subodh Kumar Goswami, DCP 8th Battalion D, will now head DCP Traffic.
Deepak Yadav, Additional DCP Outer, is transferred as DCP P&L.
New Additional DCP Appointments
In a series of new appointments, six IPS officers and five DANIPS officers have been posted as Additional DCPs across various districts:
Anant Mittal in North district
Rohit Rajbir Singh in Dwarka
Sandeep Gupta in Rohini
Sumit Kumar Jha, currently Additional DCP New Delhi, will be posted in South district.
Narra Chaitanya will take charge in Outer district, while Abhimanyu Poswal will move to South West.
Achin Garg has been transferred from Additional DCP South to Deputy GM DPHCL.
Additional DANIPS officers include
Sukant Shailja Ballabh will serve in the West district.
Saurabh Chandra has been transferred from DCP Traffic to Additional DCP Dwarka.
Hukma Ram Sai moves from DCP Traffic to Additional DCP New Delhi.
Gaurav Gupta, DCP Security, has been posted as Additional DCP North East.
Suma Madda, previously PSO to Vice President, is now Additional DCP North.
Special Assignments and Promotions
Mayank Bansal has been transferred from Additional DCP South West to DCP Communication, with the additional responsibility of DCP Welfare.
