Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister, Mr Devendra Fadnavis, will be the chief guest at a glittering function being organised in Mumbai to celebrate Annual Day of Indian Police Foundation, on Saturday, September 18. The Function being held under the thought-provoking theme, “Reimagining the Police for India’s Economic Development”, is being co-organised by Indian Masterminds, India’s leading platform on bureaucracy, policy, development and governance.
The gathering is expected to bring together a powerful mix of police leaders, industry experts, and policymakers to reflect on the role of policing in shaping India’s growth story. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra is expected to share his perspective on how policing can be a true enabler of country’s economic development.
The inaugural session at IPF’s Annual Day will also be addresses by some of the most respected figures in policing and governance, including Mr. O.P. Singh, President and CEO of IPF, and R.S. Mooshahary, Chairman of the Foundation.
A screening of specially curated films on IPF’s journey will highlight the organization’s vision and mission, while the presence of Maharashtra’s Director General of Police, Rashmi Shukla, adds a special significance. As the first woman to lead the state police force, her leadership symbolizes the new face of reform and inclusivity in law enforcement.
The first plenary session will open a vital conversation on how stable and effective policing builds the foundations of investor confidence. From ensuring safety and order to offering predictability for businesses, the panel will explore how states and nations can harness the trust generated by law enforcement to attract capital and fuel growth. Stalwarts from both policing and the corporate world will bring their experiences and case studies to the table, highlighting examples where strong rule of law transformed the investment landscape.
In the second session, the discussions will shift towards the rapidly expanding digital frontier. With cyber threats emerging as a serious challenge to security and governance, the second plenary session will underscore the need for strategic collaboration between police and industry.
Technology leaders and law enforcement specialists will deliberate on issues such as digital evidence, supply chain security, and resilience strategies. The dialogue is expected to highlight how a seamless partnership between the state and private sector can build a secure digital environment for businesses and citizens alike.
Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla will chair the valedictory session, reflecting on the ideas exchanged and charting a path forward.
This Annual Day Function is not just an observance but a platform where the idea of policing as a partner in India’s growth will be debated and reimagined. It carries the promise of bridging gaps between law enforcement, industry, and governance – pointing towards a future where economic progress and public trust move forward hand in hand.
After hosting Eco Warrior Awards for Indian Forest Service Officers for three years in succession and Uttarakhand Good Governance Awards for state’s bureaucracy, this is the third partnership, Indian Masterminds has forged – this time with country’s law enforcers to strengthen its position as the largest repository of stories of development and grit, courage and innovation being undertaken by country’s bureaucracy.
