Noida: A high-level review meeting was held on Wednesday at the Corporate Office of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), Sector-145, Noida, to assess the progress of Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminals (GCTs) being developed under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
The meeting, convened by Mr. S. P. Verma, GGM (Business Development & Business Analytics), was jointly chaired by Mr. Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director (Operations & Business Development), and Mr. Anurag Sharma, Director (Infrastructure).
Focus on Key Terminals and Accelerating Construction
Mr. S. P. Verma presented a comprehensive overview of business development initiatives, the progress of Gati Shakti terminals, and DFCCIL’s strategic priorities.
The status of terminals along the Dedicated Freight Corridor was reviewed in detail, with specific focus on Sakhoon, Dharuhera, and Sawariya. Instructions were issued to accelerate construction activities and address gaps on a priority basis to provide improved transportation and logistics facilities for industries, exporters, and traders.
Emphasis was laid on –
- Early commissioning of key terminals
- Starting operations at ready terminals to ensure seamless freight movement from ports to industrial hubs
- Strengthening multimodal integration among rail, road, and other transport modes
The directors highlighted that these measures would reduce logistics costs, shorten transit times, and boost domestic trade and export activities.

Addressing Challenges and Strengthening Coordination
Senior officials stressed that any technical, administrative, or land-related issues arising during construction or operations would be resolved on priority, in close coordination with state governments and central agencies.
They underscored that logistics is the backbone of the national economy, and strengthening this sector is crucial for achieving the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Dedicated Freight Corridor and Terminal Development
The Eastern and Western Freight Corridors are being developed across India under the DFCC project. Along these corridors, Gati Shakti Multimodal Logistics Terminals are being established at key industrial and commercial hubs to:
- Provide direct rail connectivity to ports, industrial clusters, and markets
- Make freight transportation faster, safer, and cost-effective
- Strengthen initiatives like Make in India and the Export Hub vision
