Dehradun: Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, has approved ₹75.36 crore for various development projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure, healthcare facilities, flood protection systems, and urban development across multiple districts of the state.
The approved funds will accelerate the implementation of key public welfare projects and improve services for residents while also enhancing safety and tourism infrastructure.
Road Development Projects
Under the SCSP scheme, the Chief Minister has sanctioned ₹3.58 crore for the strengthening and asphalting of the Beda–Jagad Motor Road (km 1 to 5) in the Pabau block of Pauri Garhwal district.
In another major infrastructure initiative, ₹16.87 crore has been approved for the second phase of the road widening project in the Mussoorie Assembly constituency of Dehradun district. The project will widen the New Cantt Motor Road from Salawala Bridge to Vijay Colony Bridge from two lanes to 10.50 meters, improving connectivity and traffic flow in the region.
Healthcare Infrastructure Upgrade
To strengthen healthcare infrastructure, the government has approved ₹3.93 crore for electrical rewiring work at the Government Sub-District Hospital in Roorkee, located in Haridwar district.
The upgrade is expected to improve hospital safety and ensure better medical services for patients.
Flood Protection Measures in Champawat
Flood protection work has also been prioritized in the Champawat district. The Chief Minister has approved ₹15.69 crore for the construction of embankments and flood protection systems along the right bank of the Sharda River from Boom to Tanakpur.
The project also includes additional flood safety works in Boom and Uchholigoth areas, aimed at protecting local communities from seasonal flooding.
Urban Development Projects
Several urban development initiatives have also been sanctioned:
- ₹6.79 crore for the disposal of legacy waste in Rishikesh Municipal Corporation, helping improve environmental management and sanitation.
- ₹9.81 crore for the construction of Devbhoomi Rajat Jayanti Park in Pithoragarh, which is expected to enhance recreational infrastructure and urban aesthetics.
Media Centre and Community Hall in Tanakpur
The government has approved ₹14.24 crore for the construction of a Media Centre, Guest House, and Community Hall in Tanakpur.
Out of the total amount, ₹1 crore will be released as the first installment to initiate the project.
AI-Based Security for Char Dham and Tourist Sites
To improve safety for pilgrims and tourists, the state government has approved ₹4.45 crore to install AI-based facial recognition systems and data analytics software at major religious and tourist locations.
These systems will be deployed across five districts, including key pilgrimage routes related to the Char Dham Yatra, ensuring better monitoring and crowd management.
Strengthening Infrastructure and Public Services
According to the state government, these development initiatives will boost infrastructure, improve healthcare services, enhance environmental management, and strengthen security arrangements across the state.
