Raipur: The Digital India initiative and Chhattisgarh Government’s e-services are transforming the way citizens access public services, saving significant time, effort, and resources. A recent case involving Bhubaneswar-based Sonam Tripathi showcases how these digital services are making governance accessible, even across states.
Urgent Family Challenge Across States
After her marriage, Tripathi settled in Bhubaneswar, while her parents continued to live in Bilaspur. Following the passing of her father, she received a physical death certificate from the Bilaspur municipal office. However, when her mother’s health deteriorated and she needed to transfer her mother’s bank account to Bhubaneswar, the bank required a digital death certificate. Unaware of the digital process, Ms. Tripathi faced delays during an already stressful situation.
Technology and Digital Chhattisgarh to the Rescue
Determined to resolve the issue, Tripathi contacted the Birth and Death Registration Office online. With guidance from state officials, she completed the required procedures and obtained the certificate digitally within a few days. This allowed her to promptly complete her mother’s bank account transfer without further complications.
“Digital services save time and eliminate difficulties,” said Ms. Tripathi, highlighting the importance of timely awareness of digital procedures. She urged citizens to prepare essential documents in advance to avoid hurdles in banking, pensions, property matters, and other government services.
One-Click Governance: Digital Services at Citizens’ Fingertips
The state of Chhattisgarh has made significant progress in digital birth-death registration, grievance redressal, certificate delivery, and online applications, making public services faster, transparent, and more reliable. Citizens from Bilaspur to Bastar can now access services remotely, track applications, and receive essential documents without visiting government offices.
Ms. Tripathi’s experience stands as a relatable example for citizens hesitant to adopt digital procedures. It demonstrates that with timely information, supportive administration, and modern e-governance, even complex tasks can be completed swiftly, smoothly, and stress-free.
A Testament to Digital India and Citizen-Centric Governance
Digital Chhattisgarh reflects the state’s commitment to technology-driven governance. Ms. Tripathi’s successful experience highlights how digital services are transforming ordinary citizens’ lives, making administrative processes transparent, reliable, and efficient.
Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized that the goal of Digital Chhattisgarh is to ensure every citizen can access government services quickly and easily, with just one click, marking a significant milestone in the Digital India mission.
