Senior IPS officer of 1989 batch, Mr. Ajay Bhatnagar, the incumbent Director General (Investigation) of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), was granted Apex pay scale (Level 17 in Pay Matrix) under a circular released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on April 2. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has given the nod to this proposal by the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the upgradation of Mr. Bhatnagar’s pay scale.
