New Delhi: Mr. Diwakar Kaushik has assumed additional charge as Regional Executive Director (RED), Northern Region Headquarters of NTPC, with effect from January 1, 2026. He will continue to serve concurrently as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL). His appointment brings to the Northern Region nearly four decades of rich experience in power plant operations, leadership, and digital transformation.
Extensive Leadership Experience Across NTPC
A seasoned power sector professional, Mr. Kaushik earlier served as Regional Executive Director, Western Region-II, Raipur. Over a distinguished career spanning 38 years, he has held several key leadership positions across NTPC’s major power stations and corporate offices.
His professional journey includes important assignments at NTPC Auraiya and Dadri in Uttar Pradesh, NTPC Faridabad in Haryana, NTPC Mouda in Maharashtra, NTPC Simhadri in Andhra Pradesh, and NTPC Lara in Chhattisgarh. He has also served at NTPC’s Corporate Centre – EOC, Noida, contributing significantly to enterprise operations and strategic initiatives.
Notably, Mr. Kaushik has successfully headed major power projects such as NTPC Auraiya, NTPC Simhadri, and NTPC Lara, demonstrating strong capabilities in plant operations, project management, and organizational leadership.
Strong Academic and Technical Background
Mr. Kaushik is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra. He also holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). His academic credentials, combined with deep expertise in operations, ERP, and IT systems, have enabled him to effectively lead complex, technology-driven power operations.
Strengthening NTPC’s Northern Region Operations
With his vast and diverse experience, Mr. Kaushik is expected to further strengthen NTPC’s Northern Region operations. His proven leadership, operational excellence, and strategic vision are likely to contribute significantly to enhancing efficiency, reliability, and growth of NTPC’s power generation assets in the region.
Under his guidance, the Northern Region is poised to benefit from focused operational improvements and alignment with NTPC’s long-term growth and sustainability objectives.
