In a significant step towards strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading furniture and hardware solutions firm Hafele India to support startups and MSMEs in the manufacturing sector.
As per the agreement, Hafele India will lead initiatives aimed at promoting product innovation, local sourcing, and entrepreneurship, particularly among startups and small manufacturers. The collaboration will focus on targeted investments, mentorship, infrastructure access, and integration of Indian startups into global value chains.
“The partnership brings together global best practices and local entrepreneurial energy to drive sustainable manufacturing growth aligned with the Make in India vision,” said Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT.
Hafele will also offer support in supplier development, technical collaborations, and market access, helping Indian startups scale and commercialize their products more effectively. DPIIT, through its Startup India initiative, will assist by providing ecosystem linkages, program integration, and co-branding opportunities to the participating startups.
“This MoU marks a meaningful step in our journey to empower startups that are building the next generation of globally competitive manufacturing capabilities,” said Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director, DPIIT, after signing the agreement with Frank Schloeder, Managing Director – South Asia, Hafele India.
