Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has announced that Dr. D K Sunil, the current Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), has been entrusted with the additional charge of Director (Engineering and R&D) for a further period of one month, effective from May 9, 2025, to June 8, 2025, or until further orders.

The interim appointment has been approved by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, as per its letter dated May 7, 2025, following the nod of Hon’ble Raksha Mantri.

Dr. Sunil, a veteran of HAL with nearly 37 years of service, began his career with the company in 1987 as a Management Trainee. Over the decades, he has played a key role in advancing HAL’s capabilities in design, production, quality control, and customer support.

An accomplished technocrat, Dr. Sunil holds a B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Osmania University, an M.Tech in Aircraft Production Engineering from IIT Madras, and a Ph.D. in Electronics Science from the University of Hyderabad.
