In a key administrative appointment, 2006-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Dr. Sudam Khade formally took charge as the new Divisional Commissioner of Indore on Thursday. The seasoned bureaucrat brings with him a rich portfolio of leadership experience across multiple districts and departments in Madhya Pradesh.
Extensive Administrative Experience Across Madhya Pradesh
Before his current posting, Dr. Khade served as the Commissioner of Public Relations and Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Madhyam. His earlier assignments include serving as the Divisional Commissioner of Gwalior and as the Collector in districts such as Bhopal, Sehore, Tikamgarh, and Harda.
In addition to his administrative roles, Dr. Khade also held the position of Vice Chancellor at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in Bhopal, reflecting his expertise in both governance and public communication.
Introduction and Briefing at Indore Commissionerate
After assuming office, Dr. Khade was introduced to the officers and employees of the Divisional Commissioner’s office in Indore. He held an introductory meeting and was briefed on ongoing programs and administrative functions within the division.
He emphasized a collaborative approach, signaling intent to maintain a cohesive administrative environment aimed at fulfilling state objectives efficiently.

Speaking to the media after taking charge, Dr. Khade stated, “The priorities of the state government are my priorities. All the priorities of the state government will be fulfilled with top priorities.”

Focus on PM Modi’s Proposed Visit to Dhar
One of Dr. Khade’s first briefings included reviewing the preparations for the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, scheduled for September 17 in Dhar District. He actively sought detailed inputs from officials to ensure all arrangements are in place for the high-profile visit.
This underscores the administration’s readiness and urgency in aligning regional plans with national events.
