The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), through an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), has extended the tenure of Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran as the Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) on a contract basis until March 31, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran is a distinguished economist and policy expert, currently serving as the Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) to the Government of India. With extensive experience in academia, financial markets, and economic research, he has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s macroeconomic policies. Before his appointment as CEA in January 2022, Dr. Nageswaran held leadership positions in global financial institutions and was actively involved in economic advisory roles. He has also contributed to public policy through research, publications, and teaching engagements at premier institutions. His expertise in monetary policy, financial markets, and economic strategy has been instrumental in guiding India’s economic growth trajectory.
