The Ministry of Defence has announced the appointment of Dr. Vivek Atul Bhuskute as a Part-Time Non-Official (Independent) Director on the Board of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL). His tenure will span one year, effective from April 21, 2025, the date of notification.
Dr. Bhuskute is an accomplished medical professional with over 15 years of experience in pediatrics. He earned his M.B.B.S. and Diploma in Child Health (D.C.H.) from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. A healthcare entrepreneur, he is a promoter of Arogya Nilayam Hospital, reflecting his dedication to accessible, community-focused medical care.
Beyond his contributions to healthcare, Dr. Bhuskute is also an advocate of sustainable agriculture and organic farming, actively promoting eco-friendly practices in his region. His professional portfolio includes prior experience in public sector governance, having served as Additional Director of the State Trading Corporation of India Limited from December 2, 2021, to June 26, 2022.
Dr. Bhuskute’s appointment aligns with the government’s strategic focus on infusing multidisciplinary expertise into public sector undertakings. His background in health and social welfare is expected to bring a unique and valuable perspective to MDL’s board, as the company continues its mission of fortifying India’s maritime defence infrastructure.
