Government-backed Dredging Corporation of India Ltd (DCI) has announced the appointment of two new Independent Non-Executive Directors to its Board. The decision was approved through a resolution passed by circulation on 30 June 2025.
According to an official statement, the Board has cleared the names of the following individuals as Additional Directors (Non-Executive Independent):
- Mr. Vinod Kumar Pipersenia, a 1980-batch Assam-Meghalata cadre IAS (Retd.) officer, has been appointed with effect from 02 July 2025
- Mr. Sanjay Pant, a retired IRS officer, has been appointed with effect from 03 July 2025
Both appointments will be subject to shareholder approval at the company’s next General Meeting, which is scheduled to be held within three months of the Board’s decision. Upon receiving shareholders’ nod, the two directors will serve a three-year term from the effective date of their appointment.
The company has also clarified that neither of the newly appointed Directors has any direct or indirect relationship with any Director or Officer of DCI.
These appointments are part of DCI’s efforts to strengthen corporate governance and bring in experienced leadership from the civil services to guide the company’s strategic direction.
