New Delhi: The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has assigned the additional charge of Director (Production) at Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) to DV Srinivas Rao, who is currently serving as the company’s Director (Technical).
The decision was conveyed through an official communication dated February 4.
Additional Charge Effective from January 1, 2026
According to the Ministry of Defence, DV Srinivas Rao will hold the additional responsibility with effect from January 1, 2026, until the joining of the regular incumbent, Cmde. Sujay Kapoor, or for a period of three months, or until further orders — whichever is earlier.
This interim arrangement ensures continuity in leadership at the defence public sector undertaking.

Strong Technical Leadership at BDL
DV Srinivas Rao has been serving as Director (Technical) at BDL since September 20, 2024. During his tenure, he has played a key role in strengthening the company’s technological capabilities.
He has been instrumental in establishing a state-of-the-art Electronics Division at BDL, which manufactures several critical sub-systems for advanced weapon systems.
Educational Background and Expertise
Rao holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Instrumentation, followed by a Master’s degree in Digital Systems and Computer Engineering. He has also completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources, adding managerial expertise to his technical background.
His combined technical and leadership experience is expected to support BDL’s production and manufacturing operations during the interim period.
