New Delhi: Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) marked a significant milestone today at DVC Pratyay with the launch of five major publications, each showcasing the organization’s dedication to heritage, wildlife conservation, community service, and sustainable development in the Damodar Valley region.
“The Rendezvous with the Tiger” – A Visual Tribute to India’s National Animal
DVC celebrated the majestic tiger with a visually compelling book titled “The Rendezvous with the Tiger”. This publication features captivating photographs and narratives by Mr. Bidhan Paul, Senior Manager, Finance, DVC, and is creatively designed by Mr. Abhijit Sen, Manager, HR, DVC. The book offers readers an intimate glimpse into India’s national animal through the unique perspective of DVC employees and their conservation efforts.
“A Legacy of Service” – DVC’s Commitment to Communities and Environment
Another highlight was “A Legacy of Service: Serving People, Sustainable Planet”, reflecting DVC’s long-standing dedication to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. The book was unveiled by Mr. Gautam Ray, former President of BCCI, in collaboration with team BCCI led by Smt. Sukanya Bose, Director, and Mr. B. G. Holkar, DGM CSR, DVC. It details DVC’s CSR initiatives and its ongoing efforts to support local communities while maintaining ecological balance.
Cultural and Artistic Heritage Coffee Table Book
DVC also launched a beautifully crafted coffee table book celebrating the rich cultural and artistic heritage of the Damodar Valley. The publication highlights local traditions, art forms, and DVC’s role in preserving the cultural legacy in its operational and CSR areas.

The refreshed edition of “Framing the Valley” captures the picturesque landscapes and spirit of the Damodar Valley. The publication, curated by Mr. Rajiv Ranjan Sinha, CPRO, DVC, and Mr. Vikram Singh, PRO, DVC, provides a visual journey through the region’s natural beauty, industrial progress, and cultural vibrancy.
DVC CSR Policy – Roadmap for Responsible Development
Finally, DVC released its official CSR Policy, outlining its vision, principles, and strategic roadmap for implementing responsible and impactful CSR initiatives. The policy emphasizes sustainable development, community welfare, and measurable outcomes in DVC’s operational areas.
