An ex- IAS officer and former Secretary General of Rajya Sabha, Desh Deepak Verma has been nominated as the President of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Gorakhpur.
Mr. Verma is a 1978 batch IAS officer of the UP cadre. He quit as Secretary-general, Rajya Sabha in August 2021 after completing his term. He has served on several important positions in the state and at the Centre, including as chairman of UP Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC).
