Former Andhra Pradesh IPS officer Mr. A.B. Venkateswara Rao (1989 batch) has announced his entry into politics with a clear mission — to ensure that former Chief Minister Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy never returns to power. While he has not yet aligned himself with any political party, Mr. Rao has unveiled a grassroots campaign titled “Jagan Never Again”, aimed at exposing the alleged misdeeds and injustices during Mr. Reddy’s tenure.

As part of his initiative, Mr. Rao recently visited the family of Kodikathi Sreenu (also known as Jallipalli Srinivas) in the Mummidivaram constituency, calling the case a “classic example” of what he described as the “true character” of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He alleged that Mr. Reddy “crushed the life of a Dalit youth who was ready to sacrifice his life for him, showing no mercy,” and vowed to support the family in their pursuit of justice.
Mr. Rao promised to hire a lawyer to help revive Sreenu’s case and affirmed his commitment to helping the young man rebuild his life. He said that restoring the dignity of Sreenu’s family was just the beginning of a larger effort to unite victims of Mr. Reddy’s administration and turn them into a powerful voice of opposition.
“This is only a stopover,” Mr. Rao declared, adding that he intends to mobilize public support from all those who suffered during Mr. Reddy’s rule. Through the “Jagan Never Again” movement, he aims to build a collective front against the return of the former Chief Minister to power.
Mr. Rao’s political move marks a significant shift in Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape, particularly as the state gears up for high-stakes electoral battles in the near future.
