Patna: In a major digital push to boost tourism, Bihar Tourism Minister Raju Kumar Singh launched the newly revamped departmental website www.tourism.bihar.gov.in on Tuesday. The launch event was held at the Tourism Directorate Auditorium in the Chief Secretariat. The platform now offers comprehensive and bilingual (Hindi and English) access to information on 165 key tourist destinations across the state.

One-Stop Access to Tourism Information

The new website features user-friendly navigation and extensive data on places of interest for tourists, researchers, and stakeholders in the tourism sector. In addition to destination details, it also covers tourism policies, schemes, and programs managed by the department.

The website includes integrated access through Geovisor, allowing users to not only explore maps but also view virtual layouts and navigation routes to various destinations. This digital tool is expected to significantly enhance the tourist experience by making travel planning more intuitive and accessible.

Mobile App and Online Services Coming Soon

Tourism Minister Raju Kumar Singh announced that the department will soon launch a dedicated mobile application to further streamline services and enhance public accessibility. He also mentioned that application forms for several key initiatives—such as the Bihar Tourism Policy, the Mukhyamantri Homestay Bed and Breakfast Incentive Scheme, and applications for hotel and tour operator recognition—will be made available online.

Tourism Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh encouraged the public to provide feedback and suggestions via the new website, promoting an interactive approach to tourism development.

Highlights of Bihar’s Tourist Circuits Now Online

The revamped portal offers in-depth details on key tourism circuits in Bihar, including:

  • Buddha Circuit
  • Jain Circuit
  • Sikh Circuit
  • Ramayana Circuit
  • Eco Circuit
  • Sufi Circuit
  • Gandhi Circuit

Each circuit section provides historical background, religious significance, logistical details, and information on available tourist facilities. The site also features a calendar of annual events, helping tourists plan visits around major festivals and cultural programs.

Additionally, the website includes listings of recognized tour operators, tourist guides, and certified hotels, enhancing trust and planning convenience for travelers.
