New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited formally launched Cyber Security Awareness Month (CSAM) 2025 at its Corporate Office in New Delhi on October 3, 2025. The inaugural event, held via video conferencing, seamlessly connected all major GAIL sites and marked the beginning of a month-long initiative aimed at promoting cybersecurity awareness across the organization.
Leadership Emphasizes Collective Cyber Vigilance
The inauguration was graced by Mr. R. K. Jain, Director (Finance), GAIL, who delivered the keynote address. In his remarks, Mr. Jain highlighted the significance of this year’s theme — “Cyber Jagrit Bharat” — set by the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS). He emphasized the collective responsibility in safeguarding India’s critical infrastructure, including GAIL’s own SCADA systems.
“Cybersecurity is not just an IT issue; it is a shared responsibility of every employee,” Mr. Jain stated, urging all staff to adopt robust cyber hygiene practices. He also outlined GAIL’s initiatives such as establishing Security Operations Centres (SOCs), promoting specialized training, and ensuring effective IT/OT integration as key pillars in strengthening the company’s cyber resilience.
Expert Session Highlights Evolving Threat Landscape
The launch event featured an insightful session by a distinguished cybersecurity expert, offering valuable insights into current cyber threats and best practices. The session aimed to equip employees with the knowledge required to tackle emerging challenges in the digital space.
Month-long Activities to Promote Awareness
Throughout October 2025, GAIL will host a range of activities, knowledge-sharing sessions, and competitions as part of the CSAM initiative. These events will involve both employees and their families, fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness and preparedness at all levels of the organization.
