GAIL Gas Awarded PNGRB Excellence Award 2025 for Outstanding Operational Performance in City Gas Distribution

New Delhi: GAIL Gas Limited has been honoured with the prestigious Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) Excellence Award 2025 for Operational Excellence in City Gas Distribution (CGD). The award was conferred for GAIL Gas’s exemplary performance in the Bengaluru Urban and Rural districts Geographical Area.

The award was presented by Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, during a ceremony held in New Delhi. Mr. Goutom Chakraborty, CEO of GAIL Gas Limited, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Significant Milestones in Clean Energy Expansion

GAIL Gas has made remarkable strides in expanding clean energy access in its CGD operations. Notable achievements in the Bengaluru area include:

  • Crossing 1 MMSCMD gas sales
  • Operating 146 CNG stations
  • Serving over 2 lakh domestic customers
  • Catering to 500 industrial and commercial users
  • Laying 272 km of steel pipelines
  • Developing 1,863 km of MDPE pipeline network

These figures reflect GAIL Gas’s commitment to creating a sustainable energy ecosystem that reaches households, industries, and transport networks with reliable and cleaner alternatives.

In an official statement, the company remarked:
