As one of the leading contributors to industry data, GAIL submits around 500 distinct datasets to PPAC every month, which play a critical role in the creation of eight key industry reports. In its continuous effort to enhance operational efficiency, GAIL has successfully automated its data submission process in FY 2024–25 through API integration, ensuring greater accuracy and efficiency in reporting.

The PPAC Greenfinch Data Excellence Award, which was established during PPAC’s 24th Foundation Day celebrations, honors both public and private sector companies for their excellence in data submission. Award criteria include data quality, assurance practices, IT infrastructure, security, innovation, and future readiness.

The PPAC, operating under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), is integral to the collection and analysis of critical data regarding the production, import, consumption, and export of oil and natural gas in India.
