GAIL (India) Limited has been honored with the prestigious ‘PPAC Greenfinch Data Excellence Award 2025’ by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC), acknowledging its excellence in data management, quality, and automation within the oil and gas sector. The award was presented to a team from GAIL, including Asim Prasad, Chief General Manager (Corporate Strategy Planning Advocacy & Corporate Affairs), Amitabh Ranjan, GM (CSPA), Priyanka Gupta, Chief Manager (CSPA), and Koushik Basu, Senior Manager (CSPA).

As one of the leading contributors to industry data, GAIL submits around 500 distinct datasets to PPAC every month, which play a critical role in the creation of eight key industry reports. In its continuous effort to enhance operational efficiency, GAIL has successfully automated its data submission process in FY 2024–25 through API integration, ensuring greater accuracy and efficiency in reporting.

The PPAC Greenfinch Data Excellence Award, which was established during PPAC’s 24th Foundation Day celebrations, honors both public and private sector companies for their excellence in data submission. Award criteria include data quality, assurance practices, IT infrastructure, security, innovation, and future readiness.

The PPAC, operating under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), is integral to the collection and analysis of critical data regarding the production, import, consumption, and export of oil and natural gas in India. This data is vital for strategic decision-making within the energy sector. GAIL’s recognition highlights its dedication to technological innovation and its efforts to streamline data processes in alignment with the nation’s energy objectives.
