Good governance to be awarded in Manipur

The award will be given in two categories that is individual and group. The prize money for individual category will be Rs 1 lakh and for group category it will be Rs 2 lakh.

If a government official who successfully launches an initiative or implements one, will be awarded in Manipur. Actually, the state government recently introduced “Scheme for Chief Minister’s Award for Good Governance” to appreciate good work by the civil servants.  Under this, outstanding works of the officers will be recognised and the government has also decided to give rewards to extraordinary performances and projects which have changed the life of large number of population. 

According to the notification issued by the government, award will be given to an individual or a team to the administrative secretaries, deputy commissioners, heads of department, heads of engineering departments (CEs or equivalent) and to any official or department every year. The prize money for individual category will be Rs 1 lakh and for group category it will be 2 lakh.

Apart from extraordinary projects successful completion of an challenging task or improvisation of system resulting in significant benefits to the public or reduction in time and costs, including outstanding implementation of central- and state-sponsor schemes will also be considered for the award. The day and time of award ceremony will be decided by chief minister. The award will be presented on Statehood Day, Independence Day or Republic Day as per the decision of the chief minister.
