Faridabad: On the occasion of World Car-Free Day on Wednesday, officials of Faridabad district administration cycled to their office.
Deputy Commissioner Jitender Yadav, belonging to 2010 IAS batch of AGMUT cadre, stated that the officials are asked to refrain themselves from vehicles and use public transport, cycles or walk to office every Wednesday, and believes that the move may gradually expand among the private companies and institutions as well.
Mr. Yadav also stated that no official meetings except in emergency will be held on Wednesdays. He added that officials will be allowed to leave offices at 4:50 pm or work on pending files and may attend to hear public grievances and assured that officials need not spend extra time in the offices on Wednesdays.
