Senior officers will soon be fielded to review the law and order situation in Bihar and the work being done for crime control. For this, separate teams of two secretaries of the Home Department and two IG rank officers have been formed. The team of officers will start their work soon.
In the two teams of officers released by the Home Department, one in which Home Secretary K. Senthil Kumar and IG Provision Ajitabh Kumar have been kept. This team has to visit different districts of Champaran, Muzaffarpur, Saran, Mithila, Koshi, Saharsa, and the complete Police Range. At the same time, another team has been formed by Home Secretary Jitendra Srivastava and IG (BSP. MR Nayak. They will visit the districts under Central (Patna), Shahabad, Magadh, Munger, Begusarai, and Eastern Range. These officers will stay in the fields every Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the Home Department, the team of officers will do the work of reviewing and monitoring many points. In the matter of law and order, inter-departmental coordination, prevention of communal incidents, sections 107 and 144 of CRPC, and other preventive action will be seen in the court of the sub-divisional magistrate. CCA cases related to crime control, speedy trial in serious cases, warrant, arrest and attachment, seizure, besides videography, patrolling, construction of check posts and pickets, matters related to women and child safety, and matters related to scheduled castes and tribes will be seen.
The team will also monitor cases related to land disputes, prohibition of alcohol, illegal mining, jail, and prosecution. Apart from this, the availability of land and building for police stations, the construction of visitor rooms in police stations, CCTNS will also review the status of women stations in-charge and the deployment of women constables in police stations. Traffic-related matters and problems will also be looked into.
The Home Department said that the officials would regularly visit the allotted districts. Actions related to law and order and prevention of crime and suggestions to overcome the problems in its control will also be given in its report.
