Under CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s vision Dhamtari city is set to witness major improvements in transportation infrastructure with the proposed strengthening and reconstruction of 12 different routes covering a total length of 23 kilometers. The initiative comes under the direction of Collector Mr. Abinash Mishra, a 2018-batch Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer, who instructed the Public Works Department to prepare a detailed project report for enhancing the city’s road network.
Road Projects Covering Main Routes and Mohallas
The new projects aim to connect both main roads and internal lanes of the city to ensure smoother traffic flow. Key proposed works include the construction of BT roads from Amaltas Colony to Polytechnic College Collectorate Road, Shyamtarai to Bhatgaon Road, Rudreshwar Temple to Canal Side Road, Rudri Barrage to the State Road, and Rudreshwar Temple to State Road via Karaitha village.
C.C. Road Construction to Benefit Residents
In addition to BT roads, the city has also been sanctioned several C.C. road projects. These include Police Ground Road from Bendranwagaon Chowk to Canal, Dak Bungalow Muktidham to Panchvati Colony Road, Danitola School Chowk to Girls College via Sheetkund Road, Girls College to Dulari Nagra Street, several lanes of Jalvihar Colony, and Jodhpur Gauthan to Panchvati College Road. These works are expected to greatly enhance local commuting within neighborhoods.
Focus on Long-Lasting Infrastructure
Collector Mr. Mishra emphasized that the construction of these roads will modernize the city’s traffic system and provide residents with safe, durable, and long-lasting infrastructure. He noted that improved connectivity will make access to educational, healthcare, and business facilities more convenient, thereby contributing to an improved standard of living for residents.
He also appealed to citizens to extend their cooperation during the construction period, acknowledging that temporary inconvenience may arise but assuring that quality and timely completion remain top priorities for the administration.
Boost to Urban Development
Once completed, the proposed road network will connect almost all major routes in the city, marking a significant milestone in Dhamtari’s urban development journey. The step will not only ease transportation but will also play a pivotal role in the overall modernization of the city.
