Rajkot: In a landmark move to strengthen its position as a logistics and manufacturing hub, the Government of Gujarat has unveiled the State Integrated Logistics Master Plan (ILMP), alongside City Logistics Plans (CLPs) for Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, and Junagadh. The initiative, aligned with the State Logistics Policy, lays out a robust project pipeline exceeding ₹1.80 lakh crore for the period 2026–2047.

The plans were officially launched during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conclave (VGRC) held in Rajkot on January 12, 2026, in the presence of Mr. Jayram Gamit, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, along with mayors and municipal commissioners of the respective cities. The programme was coordinated by the Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB), the state’s nodal agency for infrastructure planning and development.

Integrated Vision for Logistics Growth

The State Integrated Logistics Master Plan provides a long-term, multimodal framework aimed at enhancing efficiency across road, rail, port, air, and warehousing networks. The initiative is designed to reduce logistics costs, strengthen supply chain resilience, and support Gujarat’s growing industrial and export ecosystem, in line with national logistics reforms and the PM Gati Shakti initiative.

Complementing this, the City Logistics Plans aim to tackle urban freight challenges, including congestion, last-mile connectivity, land use optimisation, and environmental sustainability. City-specific interventions are planned to improve freight movement within municipal limits while ensuring smooth economic activity and better quality of life for residents.

Key Focus Areas

The ILMP and CLPs highlight several priority areas:

  • Development of logistics parks, multimodal hubs, and freight terminals
  • Enhanced port-led and industrial corridor connectivity
  • Streamlined urban freight and last-mile delivery systems
  • Digital integration and data-driven logistics planning
  • Promotion of sustainable and low-emission logistics solutions

Boost to Industry and Investment

Officials noted that the combined master plan is expected to significantly enhance Gujarat’s competitiveness as a preferred investment destination, particularly in manufacturing, MSMEs, exports, and e-commerce. The long-term project shelf of over ₹1.80 lakh crore provides clarity and confidence to investors, developers, and logistics service providers.

With the launch of the ILMP and CLPs, Gujarat reaffirms its commitment to building a future-ready, integrated, and sustainable logistics ecosystem, which is expected to drive economic growth, generate employment, and improve urban efficiency across the state.

This report emphasizes Gujarat’s long-term logistics vision, key focus areas, and investment potential, making it suitable for business news platforms and SEO-friendly publishing.
