Indian Railways Strengthens Jammu–Katra Line with ₹238 Crore Safety Investment

Indian Railways has sanctioned a ₹238 crore safety and infrastructure upgrade project for the Jammu–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra railway section. Jammu: Indian Railways has approved a major Jammu–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra rail section safety project worth ₹238 crore to improve long-term safety, tunnel strength, slope stability, and bridge protection in the difficult Himalayan terrain of Jammu and Kashmir. 

The project is aimed at making railway travel safer and more reliable for millions of passengers and pilgrims visiting the Vaishno Devi shrine every year.

The Ministry of Railways has sanctioned several important infrastructure protection works on the Northern Railway section between Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
