In a significant move aimed at supporting the farming community, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that all soybean farmers affected by excessive rainfall or disease will receive compensation following an official survey. Speaking at a state-level program in Jaisinghnagar, Sagar district, on September 25, Dr. Yadav reiterated the state’s unwavering support for the agrarian sector.
The Chief Minister confirmed that farmers will receive the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs. 5,328 per quintal for soybean, as declared by the central government. In cases where crops are sold below MSP, the state will cover the price difference. He also announced an increase in the paddy bonus and the timely release of funds under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Support for Women Through Financial Empowerment
Dr. Yadav also extended special Diwali cheer for women under the Ladli Behna Yojana, declaring that Ladli sisters will receive Rs. 1,500 per month from Diwali until Bhai Dooj. This initiative aligns with the government’s larger objective of fostering financial independence and well-being among women in rural and urban areas alike.
Rs. 215 Crore Development Projects Unveiled
A range of developmental works worth approximately Rs. 215 crore were launched in Jaisinghnagar. These include the construction of a new college, a girls’ higher secondary school, and road development between Masuryahi and Toda. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Anna Seva awareness campaign to improve public food security.
City Gas Expansion and Digital Governance
To enhance access to clean energy, Dr. Yadav launched the Single Vitho Portal under the City Gas Distribution Scheme. This portal aims to streamline the distribution of household gas connections, ensuring easier access through digital services.
Renaming and Upgradation of Jaisinagar
Reflecting the region’s cultural heritage, the Chief Minister announced the renaming of Jaisinagar to ‘Jai Shivnagar’ and the formation of a full-fledged municipal council for the area. Additionally, the Bewas River Project received approval, signaling further infrastructure and environmental improvements.
Boost to Animal Husbandry and Cow Protection
In his address, Dr. Yadav emphasized Madhya Pradesh’s goal of becoming the top milk-producing state in India. He announced support of up to Rs. 50 lakh for establishing cow shelters and confirmed the enhancement of cow protection expenditures to Rs. 40 per cow per day. Strict laws have already been implemented for the protection of cows, reinforcing the government’s commitment to animal welfare.
Education and Youth Employment Initiatives
The Chief Minister lauded the Compassionate Appointment Scheme in Sagar district and urged for its expansion across the state. He personally interacted with newly appointed youth, encouraging them to embrace opportunities and contribute actively to society.
Dr. Yadav also took part in cultural events and played chess with student Bhautik Singh Jat, highlighting the importance of both intellectual and cultural enrichment in student life.
Improving Public Services and Ration Distribution
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Mr. Govind Singh Rajput shared that the Chief Minister’s Food Service Awareness Program will significantly enhance transparency and efficiency in ration distribution. He also announced that household gas will now be distributed through pipelines, ensuring better access and convenience.
