Observing the catastrophic condition that the country is in, Gurgaon police, on Sunday, launched a round-the-clock helpline for Covid patients. This helpline will help the patients in reaching hospitals in PCR vans which have been temporarily converted into ambulances.
Furthermore, the police also plans to connect helpdesk to doctors through which they can provide video or phone consultations to their patients. This decision was taken after a meeting was chaired by the commissioner on Sunday.
Their spokesperson stated that anyone who registers for a hospital bed on the covid portal and is alloted one, can call on ‘9999999953’ and will be given help immediately and they will help them in reaching the hospital.
“Many people are not able to afford ambulance charges. In such cases, the PCRs will be able to help. We have stationed them across different locations in the city so that they can reach the patients at the earliest,” stated the official spokesperson.
About 20 PCRs have been turned into ambulances for this. They can also call the helpline if any other help is needed.
