Speaking to the media after attending a government programme, Mr. Dhami addressed criticism regarding his personal visit to the protest site, saying, “The youth are the backbone of the state. If they are raising genuine concerns under the scorching sun, it is my duty to listen.”
Direct Dialogue with Protesters Results in Swift Government Action
Mr. Dhami acknowledged that there had initially been a communication gap between the state administration and the protestors. To bridge this divide, he visited the protest site in person, listened to the youth, and agreed to one of their key demands — a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe into the alleged exam irregularities.
The move has been praised by many as a sign of responsive governance and administrative transparency.

“The guilty will not be spared under any circumstances,” said Mr. Dhami. “We are fully committed to building a transparent and fair system where every deserving candidate gets their due.”

Mr. Dhami reiterated that his administration’s focus remains firmly on creating a recruitment process free from corruption, cheating, and malpractice. He emphasized that Uttarakhand’s future depends on the youth, and the government will not compromise when it comes to fairness in public service exams.
