Operation Kalanemi, launched on the instructions of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami, is being intensified to ensure effective implementation across the state. The operation, aimed at maintaining law and order and preserving the sanctity of Devbhoomi, has already delivered impactful results.
Progress Report and Arrests Under the Operation
Inspector General of Law and Order Dr. Nilesh Anand Bharane (2005-batch IPS officer) briefed the media at Patel Bhawan on Sunday, highlighting achievements under the campaign. More than 5,500 individuals have been verified across districts. Out of these, 14 people were arrested, and Bangladeshi nationals identified during the drive were repatriated in coordination with the Border Security Force (BSF).
Dr. Bharane noted that Operation Kalanemi has sent a strong and positive message to society, reiterating that no element disrupting peace or exploiting faith in Devbhoomi will be spared.
District-Wise Verification and Action
According to official data, Haridwar recorded the highest number of verifications with 2,704 checks, leading to three arrests. In Dehradun, 922 verifications were carried out, resulting in four arrests. Preventive actions were taken against 1,182 individuals in total. The operation is also active in Tehri, Pauri, Almora, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar, with district administrations directed to prioritize the campaign.
Monitoring Through a Special Committee
To ensure transparency and effectiveness, the state government has constituted a committee at the headquarters level. This committee monitors daily actions under Operation Kalanemi and submits reports to the government for review and follow-up.
Government’s Focus on Security and Public Confidence
The campaign reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening law enforcement and safeguarding Uttarakhand’s cultural and spiritual identity. By prioritizing vigilance and preventive measures, authorities aim to build public trust and ensure peace across districts.
