Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami reiterated Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s statement from Baba Kedarnath that the coming decade will belong to Uttarakhand. Speaking at Raj Bhavan on Friday, he stressed that women power will be the strongest contributor to this growth. He highlighted that the safety, empowerment and active participation of women are central to the state’s progress.
Mr. Dhami noted that Uttarakhand has already recorded a decline in maternal mortality rate, reflecting the positive outcomes of women-centric policies. He reminded that women played a frontline role during the statehood movement and continue to demonstrate dedication, skill and resilience in every sector. Products made by women self-help groups from Uttarakhand are gaining recognition for their quality, further proving their economic strength.
Strong policy focus on education reforms
Responding to a question, the Chief Minister underlined that the state government has implemented the new education policy to ensure quality learning. He said that the tightening of the copying law has yielded significant results, with 25,000 youth securing jobs due to fair recruitment processes.
He further added that a new bill has been introduced to improve minority education and to guarantee access to education for all. Under this policy, from July 1, 2026, institutions not teaching the curriculum of the Secondary Education Board will be closed. This reform aims to create uniformity and accountability in the education sector.
Vision for Uttarakhand’s future
Mr. Dhami affirmed that the words of the Prime Minister will prove true, as this decade will indeed belong to Uttarakhand. With women power as the harbinger of growth and robust reforms in education and governance, the state is on course for accelerated progress and inclusive development.
