The government issued several notifications on Monday regarding high-profile appointments and tenure extensions within various departments.
Rajesh Nirwan (IPS: 1992: RJ) has been appointed as the new Director General of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of civil aviation in the country.
The tenure of Rajesh Kumar (IPS: 1995: AGMUT), Additional Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), has been extended for another year. His new tenure will last until March 18, 2026.
In another move, Jivan Kautikrao Bachhav (IRS: 2011: IT), Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, has had his tenure curtailed. He has now been appointed as the Private Secretary to the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav. Bachhav will serve at the level of Director, with his new term set to run until February 5, 2028.
These changes come as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its administrative framework and ensure effective governance.
