Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd.), Chairman and Managing Director of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), has been conferred with the prestigious Management Excellence Award 2025 in the Corporate Leadership category by the Calcutta Management Association (CMA).

The award was presented during a ceremony held in Kolkata on April 24 by Mr. TVS Shenoy, Former President of CMA and Executive in Charge, Bearings Division at Tata Steel Ltd, along with Ms. Anita Singh Motwani, Executive Committee Member of CMA and Founder & CEO of QED India.

This recognition highlights Cmde Hari’s exemplary leadership and his instrumental role in modernising GRSE, making it a dynamic and competitive player in India’s shipbuilding industry. Under his stewardship, GRSE has achieved remarkable progress in areas such as naval shipbuilding, exports, indigenisation, and digital transformation.

Cmde Hari’s strategic direction has significantly enhanced GRSE’s operational performance and reinforced its contribution to India’s maritime self-reliance and defence preparedness. The award stands as a testament to GRSE’s sustained focus on innovation, excellence, and its vital role in nation-building.

GRSE, headquartered in Kolkata, is one of India’s premier defence shipyards and a key player in the country’s maritime and defence manufacturing sector. Founded in 1884 and taken over by the Government of India in 1960, GRSE has played a pivotal role in building warships for the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard.
