Gandhinagar: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Gujarat Government on Tuesday issued transfer and posting orders for 13 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across various departments. The changes are part of the state’s broader efforts to streamline governance and enhance administrative efficiency.
Top-Level Changes Among Senior IAS Officers
Ashwani Kumar (IAS: 1997), currently Principal Secretary of the Urban Development & Urban Housing Department, has been transferred to the Sports, Youth & Cultural Activities Department. He retains additional charge of Legislative & Parliamentary Affairs.
Ramesh Chand Meena (IAS: 1997), serving as Principal Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, has been given additional charge of Ports and Transport Department.
M Thennarasan (IAS: 2000), Principal Secretary, Sports, Youth & Cultural Activities, will now serve as Principal Secretary, Urban Development & Urban Housing.
Milind Shivaram Torawane (IAS: 2000), currently Managing Director, GSPC, Gandhinagar, has been posted as Principal Secretary, Panchayats, Rural Housing & Rural Development Department. He will also hold additional charge as Commissioner of Rural Development and Principal Secretary (Rural Development), and will continue as MD, GSPC.
Mid-Level Appointments and Additional Charges
Arti Kanwar (IAS: 2001), Secretary, Finance (Economic Affairs), has been assigned additional charge of Secretary, Finance (Expenditure).
Jenu Devan (IAS: 2006), Superintendent of Stamps & Inspector General of Registration, will now also serve as Managing Director, Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd., Vadodara.
Prabhav Joshi (IAS: 2014), currently Collector of Rajkot, has been appointed Managing Director, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd., Gandhinagar.
Tejas Dilipbhai Parmar (IAS: 2016), MD of Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd., is now posted as Municipal Commissioner, Junagadh.
Dr. Om Prakash (IAS: 2016), the outgoing Municipal Commissioner of Junagadh, will now be the Collector, Rajkot.
Ashish Kumar (IAS: 2014), Collector, Panchmahals-Godhra, has been posted as Director, Tribal Development, Gandhinagar. He will also hold additional charge of CEO, D-SAG, replacing Gulati.
Junior-Level Changes in District Administration
Suthar Raj Rameshchandra (IAS: 2019), DDO, Dangs-Ahwa, has been transferred to serve as District Development Officer, Narmada-Rajpipla.
Ankit Pannu (IAS: 2018), DDO, Narmada-Rajpipla, has been posted as DDO, Jamnagar.
Patil Anand Ashok (IAS: 2021), Project Administrator, Tribal Area Sub Plan, Dangs-Ahwa, will now also hold additional charge as DDO, Dangs-Ahwa.
Administrative Reshuffle Aimed at Strengthening Governance
The reshuffle reflects the government’s intent to optimize departmental leadership and inject fresh energy into key development and policy areas including urban planning, rural upliftment, power distribution, and tourism. The reassignments are expected to bring in renewed focus on execution and policy delivery, particularly in the lead-up to new project implementations and public welfare schemes.
