Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Inaugurates Girls’ Hostel at Devka Vidyapeeth to Boost Girls’ Education and Development

Under Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav, Gujarat Government Supports Holistic Development with ₹1,438 Crore Aid Through Namo Lakshmi and Namo Saraswati Schemes

Amreli: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated a newly built girls’ hostel and bhojnalaya (dining hall) at Devka Vidyapeeth in Rajula taluka, Amreli district, reinforcing the state government’s focus on girls’ education and holistic development. The event highlighted Gujarat’s commitment to reducing school dropout rates and supporting value-based education for young students.

Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav Drive Educational Success

CM Patel praised the success of initiatives such as Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that these programs have helped reduce the school dropout rate among girls to nearly 2%, reflecting the effectiveness of sustained government intervention in education.

To support girls from financially weaker backgrounds, the state has introduced:

  • Namo Lakshmi Yojana – Providing financial assistance to girls to continue their education
  • Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana – Depositing funds directly into students’ bank accounts for educational support

So far, ₹1,438 crore has been distributed under Namo Lakshmi to 21.34 lakh girls, and ₹220 crore has been credited under Namo Saraswati to 2.96 lakh students.

He extended congratulations to Pujya Ramesh Oza and the Devka Vidyapeeth team for their commitment to nurturing students’ all-round growth.

Founder Ramesh Oza Emphasizes Student-Centric Education

Founder of Devka Vidyapeeth and renowned Bhagwat Kathakar Ramesh Oza spoke about the importance of focusing on students who struggle academically and nurturing their individual talents. He stressed that education is crucial for developing the potential of young minds and shaping the future of the nation.

He added that India’s talent pool is among the best in the world, and the country continues to assert itself as a global leader in multiple fields.

Devka Vidyapeeth: A Legacy of Excellence

Notably, Devka Vidyapeeth was inaugurated in 2012 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat. Over the years, the institution has grown as a center for academic excellence and cultural education, providing a balanced environment for holistic development of students.
