Gandhinagar: Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat inaugurated a Natural Farming Products Exhibition at the Gujarat Legislative Assembly complex on Friday, reinforcing his long-standing advocacy for chemical-free agriculture and rural development.
The exhibition aims to create awareness among farmers and the general public about the benefits of natural farming and promote sustainable, chemical-free agricultural practices across the state.
Exhibition Showcases Chemical-Free Farming Success
A total of nine stalls were set up within the Assembly premises, displaying products cultivated through natural farming methods—without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. The exhibition demonstrated that high-quality crops can be grown sustainably while maintaining soil health and reducing input costs.
After the inauguration, the Governor toured the stalls and interacted with progressive farmers, encouraging them to expand natural farming practices and inspire others in the agricultural community.

Governor’s Continued Push for Sustainable Agriculture
Acharya Devvrat has been a vocal advocate of natural farming and rural empowerment for years. He frequently visits farmers across Gujarat and other states, urging them to shift away from chemical-based agriculture and adopt sustainable alternatives.
In October 2024, during a programme in the Tharad region of Banaskantha district, he remarked, “I am a farmer first, then a Governor,” emphasising his deep personal commitment to agriculture. He described natural farming as an effective way to improve soil health, conserve water, and reduce farmers’ input costs.
Earlier, in October 2023, at a natural farming camp in Ahmedabad, he appealed to farmers to minimise the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides. He continues to engage directly with natural farming practitioners, learning from their experiences and promoting their success stories.
Strengthening Rural Development Through Natural Farming
The exhibition at the Gujarat Assembly reflects the state leadership’s broader vision of promoting sustainable agriculture, enhancing soil fertility, conserving water resources, and ensuring long-term rural prosperity.
By providing visibility and institutional support to natural farming initiatives, Gujarat aims to create a more resilient agricultural ecosystem that benefits farmers, consumers, and the environment alike.
