Gandhinagar: In a significant push to strengthen its position as a global manufacturing hub, the Gujarat government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Allegiance International Company Limited to promote industrial cooperation with Taiwanese enterprises. The initiative aims to accelerate growth in semiconductors, electronics, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Indo-Taiwan Industrial Park Planned in Sanand-Dholera
As part of the agreement, an Indo-Taiwan Industrial Park will be developed in the Sanand-Dholera region of Gujarat. The proposed park will serve as a dedicated manufacturing hub for key sectors, including:
- Semiconductors
- Electronics manufacturing
- Electric vehicles (EVs)
- Robotics
- Allied supply chain industries
The project is expected to attract global investors, particularly from Taiwan, strengthening India’s high-tech manufacturing ecosystem.

Major Investment Push in Semiconductor Sector
According to the state government, Gujarat is already emerging as a preferred destination for semiconductor investments, with ongoing projects worth over ₹1.24 lakh crore under development.
The new industrial park is expected to bring in an additional ₹1,000 crore in foreign direct investment (FDI), with an initial investment of around ₹100 crore planned for early development phases.
12,000 Jobs Expected in Next Five Years
The project is projected to generate approximately 12,000 direct employment opportunities over the next five years. Officials said the initiative will significantly boost skilled job creation in high-tech manufacturing sectors.
The collaboration is also expected to enhance business linkages between Indian and Taiwanese companies, encouraging long-term industrial partnerships.

The state government said the initiative aligns with India’s broader semiconductor mission and the vision of strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities.
Gujarat continues to position itself as a leading destination for innovation-driven industries, particularly in electronics, EVs, robotics, and advanced technology manufacturing.
