Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat to assess development works, announcements, and ongoing projects across assembly constituencies in Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts.

Focus on Speed and Accountability in Development Projects

During the meeting, the Chief Minister took note of issues raised by local MLAs and directed officials to take swift action. He made it clear that any delay or negligence in development work would not be tolerated.

Dhami emphasised the need for accountability and timely completion of projects to ensure that public benefits reach citizens without delay.

Instructions for Better Coordination and Public Grievance Redressal

The Chief Minister instructed officials to maintain continuous communication with elected representatives to effectively resolve public issues. He also stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination, especially for schemes involving multiple departments, to ensure smooth and efficient implementation.

Pre-Monsoon Preparedness and Essential Services

Keeping the upcoming monsoon season in mind, Dhami directed authorities to complete all necessary preparations in advance. He also instructed officials to:

  • Avoid unnecessary power cuts during the summer season
  • Ensure adequate availability of drinking water
  • Strengthen infrastructure to handle seasonal challenges

Launch of Labour Welfare Mobile App and DBT Transfer

Earlier, at the camp office in Dehradun, the Chief Minister launched a labour service mobile app developed by the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

Alongside the launch, over ₹17 crore was transferred directly to the bank accounts of 8,005 workers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, reinforcing the government’s focus on welfare delivery.

Skill Development and Employment Opportunities for Workers

Dhami directed officials to prioritise skill development for workers and their dependents. He highlighted the importance of training in technical fields such as:

  • Plumbing
  • Electrical work
  • Masonry
  • Carpentry

Additionally, he encouraged expanding opportunities in the growing yoga and wellness sector by providing free training to workers’ children and linking them with employment opportunities both in India and abroad.

Appointment Letters and Transparent Recruitment Drive

The Chief Minister also distributed appointment letters to newly selected candidates for the post of cartographer under the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, congratulating them on their new roles.

He reiterated that the implementation of a strict anti-cheating law has significantly improved transparency and fairness in recruitment processes.

Over 30,000 Youths Get Government Jobs

Highlighting the success of the state’s recruitment reforms, Dhami stated that more than 30,000 youths have secured government jobs based on merit. This, he said, has strengthened both confidence and morale among young aspirants in Uttarakhand.
